What Is (Are) Your Strengths? - Interview Answers

This is a simple and popular interview question. Generally people answer it in two ways. There are people who simply state their strength like ā€œI am Young, Dynamic, Intelligent, Smart and so onā€¦ā€. Such answer is neither right nor wrong but does not help u in any way also.

Secondly there are peoples who state their strengths and explain them how he can use his strength for the job and industry.

Do not simply state your strength. Everyone has some strength, all you need is to convert them into benefits. In short, try to advertise yourself by converting your features into strengths.

ā€œEVERYONE CLAIM THEY ARE HONEST, HARDWORKING, SMART AND SO ON….. BUT
WITH AN EXAMPLE IT IS MUCH MORE BELIEVABLE.ā€

Your answers can be :

1) I am a hard worker and because of this ability I can work for additional hours to accomplish my tasks.I am commitment oriented and hence I always enjoy the trust and confidence of my team mates which enables me to perform my duties very easily.

2) I am adaptable, so I can handle any type of people and situations and also bring out the best from them in spite of conflicting situations or opinions. I am a quick learner, so I can any subject quickly and analyze my job and add value to it as well as I can identify the problem and solve them faster and better.

3) My strength is that I have very strong values and ethics and a very good eye for detail. I believe in strong relationships and have a very supportive family and very good friends.

4) I’ve always been a great team player and therefore I can work efficiently to produce quality work in a team environment.I can accomplish a large amount of work within a short period of time hence I get things done on time.

IF YOU ARE INTERVIEWED FOR A MANAGERIAL POSITION OR FOR AN ADMISSION IN A MBA COLLEGE.......

Your answer can be:

ā€œWell, I believe I am good at planning and execution, and working with people. I’ve always been good at detailing all the steps too. Even in college, I used to spend time organizing my week and planning a strategy to tackle each class and assignment. I love working in a team environment where I try to use strengths of each individual in a team and hence produce the best results.ā€

Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SMART WORKER & A HARD WORKER?

"A hard worker always do right things but a smart worker always put things right."

Q: TELL ME ON THE BASIS OF WHICH STRENGTH SHOULD WE SELECT YOU?

As an individual, I am a package of all my strengths that I have stated to you and I strongly believe that if you have to select me, you have to do so for all my strengths put together and not for one strength in isolation. However if you still insist that you would like to select me for a specific strength than the prerogative is yours sir.

  4. Hi vandana, Thanks for visiting the blog.

    About your query,
If i were in your place i would think of three things : Company's Profile , Salary and Work environment where i have to stick for 3 years.

I would have answered - "Since i have to get into a bond for 3 years, can i have some time to think over it because i need to consider a lot of things (like social and geographical factors) before accepting the offer."

  5. Hi vandana,

See, the only thing any company checks in a professional or an employee is "Positive attitude and willingness to excel."

When they say you are not competitive, Be stern and say "I am confident that i can handle the work more efficiently and its not that i was not in touch with my work during the gap, i was trying to better myself each day during the period. Even if you think that I'm not Competitive, you definitely would agree that I have other qualities that appealed you, for which you are now interviewing me(say it with a smile).

  14. Hi, Uttam. I am not sure if i will be able to get a response back fromt his blog. But anyways i am still going ahead and posting my query.
I have been working in the middle east ( dubai ) for the past 8 years and now i have plans to relocate back to India. Professionally i am very cofident about what i do...but i am not sure if i will be able to sink in with the indian corporate culture. for me it a big step and a different ball game alltogether.
i have started applying on online jobsites.
My question is how do i find work and what is the process of joining a company with 8+ yrs experience.

  15. Hi Rahila,

    Thanks for visiting the blog.

Well i dont think you will find any kind of problems in adjusting with the indian corporate culture.

The kind of experience you have, i feel it wont be difficult for you to find a job in india. There is a great requirement of expeienced professionals in indian corporates.

You can get yourself registered with indian job portals like naukri.com, monster.com, etc.

The process of joining differs for all companies. Once you get shortlisted the process will be made clear to you by the respective organization.

In case you have any problems or you need any kind of help from me, you can mail me directly at:
