Try to introduce some of your most important employment-oriented skills as well as your education and accomplishments to the interviewer. Answer to this question is very important because it positions you for the rest of the interview. That's why this statement is often called the "Positioning Statement".
One should take the opportunity to show his/her communication skills by speaking clearly and concisely in an organized manner. Since there is no right or wrong answer for this question hence it is important to appear friendly.
YOUR ANSWERS CAN BE:
1) I am a person with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to get along well with people. I enjoy challenges and looking for creative solutions to problems.
2) Besides the details given in my resume, I believe in character values, vision and action. I am quick in learning from mistakes. I am confident that the various tests that you have conducted will corroborate my competencies aptitude and right attitude for the job.
3) I attended G.I.E.T where I majored in Electronics and Communication Engineering. My hobbies include basketball, reading novels and hiking. I’m an easy going person that works well with everyone. I enjoy being around different types of people and I always like to challenge myself to improve at everything I do.
4) I went to GIET, Gunupur where I majored in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Afterwards, I started my career at Mumbai as a software engineer in LnT Infotech. I've been there for 3 years now. I love solving riddles and puzzles and I also enjoy jogging, reading and watching movies.

Like you need to first introduce yourself(Ur name, and Ur recent credentials) than you need to showcase your strengths( which will show ur attitude) and finally why you want to make a career in the stream(which will showcase ur determination).

Try to convince them(through examples) that you can lead by example and not by force.

You can say, “Mechanical Engineering was what I was looking to do after my intermediate exams as I was fascinated for working on machines and motors. But when I was doing my engineering, slowly I got more interested in programming languages. After learning subjects like C, C++, I learned that these subjects involve a lot of skills and thought processing which I really love to do. Hence my passion and hobby towards the subject is driving me to join an IT Company, so that I can learn more and prove my mettle.”
Your answer should show that you are really hungry to get into IT Sector. And remember one thing, interviewers don’t look into answers, but their main focus is always on how u approach to a particular question.

One suggestion: Don't think too much.
If you are attending a technical interview, then you just be thorough with basics as the interviewer just tries to find out whether you are comfortable with basics or not.
Regarding HR interview, i have provided a lot of sample answers in the website itself. I would recommend you to make your own answers, so that you get to know yourself and analyze yourself better.

See Mohit, what you answer to their questions matters least, but what matters most is your confidence. Always believe in yourself. No body can teach you to believe in yourself.
The only way to boost your confidence is to be well prepared before the interview. Try to jot down the answers to all the above questions in your own words (you can find sample answers here but don't follow it blindly). Try to speak in front of a mirror. Make your body language confident.
That's all you need my friend.
For "Tell Me Something About Yourself" tell them about your strengths that can help you to become a better manager in the future. Show through your body language that you are raring to go for the management program.
"Why This Institute" - Here you need to do some homework. Go through websites, speak to some seniors and passouts and try to learn from them, what are the best things about this particular institute. Don't give them a blunt answer like this is one of the prestigious institute in India and you would like to be a part of it. Your answer should reflect that you have done necessary homework.

ReplyDeletethis is Jayant Rahul. Im about to attend SSB(service selection board) in a couple of days. I have a problem that these interviewers require some 14-15 OLQs(officer like qualities). now how could i ever know that what are those OLQs and how can i induce them.

My first job is high school computer teacher on the same school
where I finished my degree,
I want to shift and work in IT industry(software)..
It was really my dream to be an IT professional.
I am really nervous for my coming interview..
I keep on thinking what should I answer if
the HR will ask me: " y did you changed your field from teaching to IT.?
or " y did you chose teaching as your first job?

ReplyDeleteWell, I am looking for a managerial opening in a BPO or related industry.
I have a difficulty,That i have been working for my current company for the last 10.years offcourse i have been promoted more then twice as well. and currently in a comfortable situation as far as perfromance is concerned.
I think it may become difficult for me to answer the below questions.
Q1. Why are you leaving your current company?
How should i answer this, considering that working in the same organisation in this industry may sound like,"settled with goals etc". Not competent, etc etc.
Can you suggest provide some thought here

Hi...my particular issue with interviewing is I ALWAYS feel like I did a great job of interviewing. I use techniques described here, as well as from other professionals, but I have yet to receive a job offer after over a year of unemployment. I have exceptional administrative skills with 20+ years of experience working in professional corporate environments, received substantial raises due to my performance and proactive nature always wanting to learn something new that would benefit the organization. Unfortunately, I worked many years in the aircraft industry and laid off after many years of service during each company's lean times because I had lower seniority than other Admins. I know I'm not the only candidate, and in fact, know there are 100's of others that are just as qualified as myself. Just can't seem to find that something "unique" about me to land the job. I was surprised to find after my last layoff many job postings for Admin Assts require a "Bachelor Degree" What? I have EXPERIENCE. I'm mature. I bring knowledge, skills, abilities, ethics, loyalty, passion about my work to the job. I'm also 57 yrs old, which is very intimidating when sitting across the desk from a hiring manager the same age as my daughter.

This is great advice! Very honest and practical. Love it. Especially the part about the “need to love your job”. Can’t remember that I read anywhere else that it is ok if you have days when you just think work sucks and there is no purpose or meaning. Also: love the colour article!
